About This Grant
Giving Joy offers small microgrants to women entrepreneurs worldwide whose projects create social and economic impact for women, girls, and families in their communities. They prioritize innovative, creative ideas with strong potential for community benefit rather than polished applications.
- Cycle 1 – Spring 2026: Applications open April 1, 2026
- Cycle 2 – Fall 2026: Applications open September 1, 2026
How You Can Use the Funds
- Funds should be used for clear, specific project activities that create community impact for women and girls. Examples from the page include:
- Training or skills-building (e.g., “Training 10 women in construction skills to then support their families”)
- Workshops or events (e.g., “Providing legal workshops for 20 women so they better understand their rights”)
- ommunity programs that create opportunity, income, safety, leadership, or dignity for women and girls
- They specifically say they do not fund:
- Activities primarily focused on purchasing merchandise or inventory for resale
- Advertising and marketing as the main use
- Personal expenses that are not tied to broader community impact
- The application must explain exactly what will be purchased/implemented, who will participate, how many will benefit, and an estimated budget.
Documents Required
- Applications must be submitted online through the Giving Joy website (email applications or partnership pitches are not accepted).
- Applicants may apply once per cycle, and previous winners cannot reapply.
Eligibility Requirements
- Women ages 18 and up
- Applicants can be anywhere in the world (no geographic restriction).
- You do not have to already own a business; you may start or expand:
- a business
- a nonprofit/NGO/charity
- a specific project/activity - The proposed project must:
- focus on women, girls, and/or families
- be create clear social and/or economic benefits for multiple women/families/communities (not just personal business gain)
