About This Grant

Feed the Soul Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit developed to aid marginalized professionals in the culinary industry. The National Emergency Relief Fund (NERF) provides businesses with a minimum of $500 up to $1,000 in financial support to alleviate business owners who have been gravely impacted by natural disasters, restaurant equipment repair needs, vandalism, malicious mischief, riot and civil commotions, and theft.

The awarded amount is determined through a comprehensive review process by a committee of the Board of Directors. It is not guaranteed that award recipients will receive funding or the full requested amount. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

  • Riot and civil commotion damages
  • Theft-related losses

Eligibility Requirements

  • Business must be at least 51% owned by a marginalized individual (Black, Indigenous, and Latinx)
  • Business must be located in the United States, including Puerto Rico
  • Business must be at least 1 year old prior to completing the application
  • Application must be submitted electronically (no paper, email, fax, or mail)
  • Emergency funds cannot be used for start-up funds, personal health costs, bonuses, or legal expenses
  • Amount requested should not exceed $1,000.00
  • One application per business and per applicant
