Accessibility Statement

February 10, 2026

Microenterprise Collaborative of Inland Southern California is committed to providing a fully accessible website experience for all users, including those with disabilities who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen enlargement software, and alternative keyboard input devices to navigate the web.

Ongoing Efforts to Ensure Accessibility

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 as our guiding principle for determining accessibility. These are internationally agreed-upon standards that cover a wide range of recommendations and best practices for making content usable. As we add new pages and functionality to our website, all designs, code, and content entry practices are checked against these standards.

Website accessibility is an ongoing process. We will continually test our site yearly and features for WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance and remediate any issues to ensure we meet or exceed the standards. Our team members test our website using industry-standard tools, including the WordPress Accessibility Checker plugin, color contrast analyzers, keyboard-only navigation techniques, and Flesch-Kincaid readability tests.

Accessibility Features On Our Website

The following is a list of items we have included in our website to improve its accessibility:

  • Consistent navigation and headings: Pages use clear, logical heading structures and consistent navigation to help users understand where they are and move through content.
  • Keyboard-accessible content: Menus, buttons, forms, and other interactive elements are designed to be usable with a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.
  • Visible focus indicators: Interactive elements display a clear focus outline so keyboard users can easily track their position on the page.
  • Color contrast and legible text: Text and interactive elements are designed with sufficient color contrast and readable font sizes to assist users with low vision.
  • Alternative text for images: Informative images include alternative text so users of screen readers can understand the purpose and meaning of visual content.
  • Accessible forms: Form fields include associated labels, clear instructions, and descriptive error messages to help users complete and submit forms.
  • ARIA attributes where needed: ARIA labels and roles are used, where appropriate, to clarify the purpose of interactive components for assistive technologies.
  • Responsive design: Pages are designed to be usable on a variety of devices and screen sizes, including mobile phones and tablets.
  • Language attributes: The site’s default language is set in the code to help screen readers correctly announce content.
  • Use of lists to structure content: Ensuring related items are marked up as proper ordered or unordered lists so screen readers can present them clearly.

Where We’re Improving

In our efforts to bring our website up to standard, we are targeting the following areas:

  • PDFs we attached are not accessible at this time. All links that open a PDF warn accessibility device users that the link opens a PDF, so they know ahead of time.
  • 2 YouTube videos need transcriptions.

This is part of our broader effort to make everyone’s experience at Microenterprise Collaborative of Inland Southern California a welcoming and enjoyable one. Please note that while we make every effort to provide information accessible for all users, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites to which we may link.
